Watershed Restoration Project Manager
Save Buzzards Bay
Description: Buzzards Bay Coalition is seeking an experienced ecological restoration professional to join our Watershed Protection team, helping to increase the pace of implementation for ecological restoration projects in the Bay’s watershed. The Watershed Restoration Project Manager will manage the development, design/engineering, permitting and implementation/construction of coastal, wetland and riverine ecological restoration projects throughout the Buzzards Bay watershed. Projects include saltmarsh and freshwater wetland restoration (including wetland restoration in retired cranberry bogs), stream channel and bank restoration, and addressing fish passage barriers including removal of dams and replacement of culverts. The full-time position will work closely with the Coalition’s Senior Restoration Ecologist and Vice President of Watershed Protection.
We seek someone with professional experience in ecological restoration, environmental consulting, engineering, construction project management, or equivalent. We primarily are seeking demonstrated project management abilities, excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills, experience working with multi-stakeholder groups, using GIS for project planning, and a passion for the environment, Buzzards Bay and its watershed lands (or a suitable equivalent background). Candidates must have excitement and motivation to be part of a proven, successful team implementing cutting edge ecological restoration to improve natural and community resources. 5+ years of experience preferred. The position will be based at the Coalition’s award-winning, green building - the Buzzards Bay Center – on New Bedford’s historic waterfront.
