Teacher Naturalist II - Long Pasture, Barnstable MA
Mass Audubon
Mass Audubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England. Founded in 1896 by two women who fought for the protection of birds, Mass Audubon carries on their legacy by focusing on the greatest challenges facing the environment today: the loss of biodiversity, inequitable access to nature, and climate change. With the help of our 160,000 members and supporters, we protect wildlife, conserve and restore resilient land, advocate for impactful environmental policies, offer nationally recognized education programs for adults and children, and provide endless opportunities to experience the outdoors at our wildlife sanctuaries.
Mass Audubon are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher Naturalist to join our year-round staff. The Adult Program Teacher Naturalist (ATN) position focuses on development and implementation of the adult programs across the Cape region, including both Wellfleet Bay and Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuaries.
The ATN teaches programs on local ecology across the region with the goals of engagement and moving people towards conservation action. This work will take place inside classrooms, online and outside at our sanctuaries and other conservation areas including the salt marsh, tidal flats, forest habitats and on kayaks. The majority of hours will be teaching and overseeing adult programs, serve as the accessibility lead in our region, and the hiring and supervision of seasonal program staff.
