Waquoit Bay Summer Science School
The Friends of Waquoit Bay Reserve, in partnership with the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is seeking a Summer Junior Counselor to work with school staff at the Waquoit Bay Summer Science School in East Falmouth. This position will assist counselors with preparation of daily lessons, activities, and games as well as model appropriate behavior with campers and promote a safe environment. The Junior Counselor will also participate in activities and help with set-up and clean-up each day
Qualifications: Must be 15 years + years old. Have an interest in science or estuary ecology and working with children. Be able to work outdoors for 6 hours of the day in a variety of weather conditions. Be able to walk on uneven terrain. Be able to interact with children in a friendly, supportive way. Must complete a CORI and Sori background check.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour; this is a seasonal contract position that does not provide benefits.
Work Schedule: This is a four-week position. July 7-12 8:45am-3:15pm 32. 5 hours July 14-18 8:45am-3:15pm 32.5 hours July 28-August 1 8:45am-3:15pm 32.5 hours August 4-8 8:45am-12:15pm 22.5 hours
The position begins on Monday, July 7th, the Junior Counselor will be given training and will begin working with the campers on the 2nd day of camp.
