IT: Security + Instructor
Cape Cod Community College
Provide instruction to students in one 8-week section of (CIT240Q-01) IT: Security + during the Fall 2025 semester (September 2nd - October 22nd ) every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 - 12:15. This course covers fundamental principles for securing a network and managing risks. Using a hands-on approach, students learn access control, identity management and cryptography, and a selection of appropriate mitigation and deterrent techniques to address network attacks and vulnerabilities. This course prepares students to take the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
- Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
- Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Available to students when mutually convenient.
- Provide a large amount of hands-on labs and examples, during classes while covering the technical material.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of IT experience or a master's degree in appropriate discipline.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Training or teaching experience.
