Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructors - Summer 2025

Cape Cod Community College

Cape Cod Community College is seeking qualified Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Instructors for AMT Program, located in Plymouth, MA. Instructors will lead and teach FAA Part 147 aviation courses on a regularly scheduled basis. This includes providing classroom and laboratory instruction in aviation maintenance subjects and related technologies to a diverse student population enrolled in the Aviation, Associate of Applied Science Degree, and Airframe and Powerplant Certificate Programs.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Classroom and laboratory instruction of FAA Part 147 aviation courses.
  2. Participate actively in program activities, meetings, and faculty development sessions.
  3. Participate in the Department's assessment, development, and implementation of lecture and laboratory curriculum, courses, and programs.
  4. Maintain own professional certifications and remain current in aviation maintenance practices and standards.
  5. Maintain and submit attendance, grades, student evaluation, and all other required documentation and reports per established procedures.
  6. Actively utilize proven student retention techniques approved by the College.
  7. Attend in-service training seminars, as required.
  8. Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
  2. Three years of relevant work experience in an aviation maintenance capacity.
  3. Demonstrated presentation skills in the classroom including integration of computer-based aviation software program(s).
  4. Commitment to the community college philosophy.
  5. Demonstrated evidence of keeping current in the fields of aviation and teaching.
  6. Ability to relate pedagogically to the needs and interests of students.
  7. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
  8. Potential to make significant contributions to curriculum and project development.
  9. Ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.

Part-time hours available are Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., with occasional Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., as needed.
