This unit was created for 3rd grade students by Terri O’Hara and Sharon Waldron through 2016 Teacher-in-Residence Program.

This unit was is designed to introduce students to forces of friction, magnets, science, and engineering. Students will be able to conduct investigations regarding how forces change the motion of an object and how magnets are influenced by direction and distance. At the end of the unit, students will be able to design a tool to solve a problem using their knowledge of forces and motion.
