About the speaker: Christy Hudak's main work focuses on the assessment of the zooplankton resource in Cape Cod Bay in terms of right whale habitat, behavior, and distribution trends. In addition, Christy collaborates with multiple organizations in the fields of statistical modeling, genetics (eDNA), acoustics, and microplastics involving multiple species including seals, Great Shearwaters, and right whales. Her eDNA research includes collaborating with Oregon State University in right whale eDNA detection since 2018, and with University of Maine in seal eDNA detection since 2020.
