STEM In The Community

We are pleased to share a recording of the event Exploring Ocean Science Research @ WHOI for Community College Students. Panelists include Kama Thieler, Undergraduate Programs Coordinator, at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Gretta Serres, is Researcher at WHOI in microbiology and also a community college professor at Cape Cod Community College.

Gretta Serres has led the CC-CREW program development which you will hear more about today. Our Director of Cape Cod STEM Network, Bridget Burger also serves as the co-PI on CC-CREW. CC-CREW is funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation, and along with the BEIP, is supported through STEM Starter Academy funding, an initiative of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.

They are joined by Teodora Zhivkova, a student who participated in the program in the summer of 2023. Teodora graduated from 4Cs this May with Associates in Physics, and is currently studying for Bachelors in Physics at Bridgewater.
