The Blue Economy Internship Program, (BEIP) offers experiential learning opportunities for public high school, state and community college students in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to build their professional experience, skills and knowledge related to the life sciences, technology and the Blue Economy. The Blue Economy is the "sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods and jobs, and ocean ecosystems health."
The Marine Biological Laboratory is looking to fill internship opportunities in areas of your interest or those that have been identified throughout the organization to include the following department:
Working closely with the Procurement Manager in Financial Services, the intern will assist by supporting the significant increase in purchasing activities that occur during the summer season. The intern will receive and review purchase requests for accuracy and compliance, place and track orders, communicate order status with end users, and maintain electronic files in accordance with organizational policy and federal regulations. While most of this internship is procurement related, there will also be opportunities to explore and help with other Financial Service activities. This internship positions is available full-time beginning in mid-May 2020 through June and possibly longer.
