2021 Summer Intern Integrated System Planning (Remote)

AVANGRID, an innovative and growing energy company, needs a creative and ambitious college student to join our Integrated System Planning team. You will take part in an Internship program to learn our business inside and out.

As part of our program, you will develop, test and troubleshoot web applications and commercial off-the shelf software (COTS) for the Integrated System Planning team. The ideal candidate is flexible, passionate, creative and enjoys taking on new challenges.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Participate in a dynamic internship program where you’ll work on several projects within the Integrated System Planning team that may focus on Investment Planning, Load Forecast, Network Modelling and Hosting Capacity.
  • Work with Distribution Planners on the Integrated System Planning team using COTS to develop solutions and learn about the energy industry.
  • Work in an innovative and energized environment with a chance to make an impact.
  • Create a comprehensive presentation of your work completed during the program for presentation to the wider organization at the end of the program.

  • Experience in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Experience with a modern Javascript UI framework such as React or Angular

  • Experience with .NET Core, C# and/or Python
  • Experience with SQL Server and writing queries
  • A strong desire to learn and contribute
  • Able to communicate effectively and collaborate with remote team members

Education & Experience Required:

  • Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor’s or first year in Masters/MBA Degree (Bachelors discipline in electrical engineer and computer science, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or related area.)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the requirement for future sponsorship
